James S. Brown III, MD, FACS

Dr. Jim Brown is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, glaucoma surgery, diabetic eye laser surgery, and retinal laser procedures. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.

In addition to working at his clinic, he was awarded the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s prestigious Secretariat Award in recognition of the efforts to advance eye care in the state of Mississippi. In 2012, he became the first ophthalmologist in Mississippi to implant the iStent, thus paving the way for Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) throughout the state.

Dr. Brown has served as the Chief of Staff at OCH Regional Medical Center, is the Ophthalmology Consultant for the Mississippi State University Athletic Department, and is actively involved in the Mississippi Academy of Physicians and Surgeons and is past president-elect of this organization.

Dr. Brown is actively involved with his four children, has enjoyed participating in medical mission trips to India, Guatemala, and Haiti, and remains widely involved in the Mississippi State and Golden Triangle community.

Karen is a graduate of Mississippi State University and has been in management for more than a decade. She has recently joined the ELCS family as the Office Manager. She loves crunching numbers, meeting goals and deadlines, and providing access to care for our patients. When she is not at work, she can be found gardening, canning, or cuddling with her cats.

Marsha has been with the practice for over seven years! During that time, she has served in many roles—Ophthalmic Technologist, Optician, Receptionist, and most recently Billing and Coding. She enjoys helping patients gain a better understanding of their insurance coverage and benefits. When she’s not at work, she can be found spending time with her family and her cat, LaDuchess.

Landyn is a Surgical Technologist and our Clinic Manager. She is originally from Grenada, MS but now lives in Eupora, MS with her cat and three dogs—the joys of her life. She is engaged and is getting married in August! On off days you can find her spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and watching football.

Caitlin has been a Registered Nurse for five years. In addition to working as a pre- and post-op nurse with our Surgery Center, she also works as an Ophthalmic Technician. When not at work, you can find Caitlin spending time with her dog, Poppy.

Bethany has been a surgical tech for two years. At the ELCS, Bethany uses her knowledge to excel as both a Ophthalmic Technician and a Surgical Technician for our surgery center. When she's not at work, you can find Bethany booking her next vacation and trying new recipes.

Aubrey is a Starkville native. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Biological Sciences. Her favorite part about being an Ophthalmic Technician is getting to know and helping her patients. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, having game nights, and desserts--especially cookies.

Stacy has almost two decades of experience in medical billing. She is new to our practice and plans to apply her knowledge of medical billing to solve difficult problems and efficient solutions. Stacy spends her time off with her husband, daughter, their two dogs, and cat.
